My Town

ARTIST STATEMENT
“Because the human face has always fascinated me, my first art work centered around the figure and portraiture. Over the years, however, I have used the human face to pursue the challenge of capturing expression, character, morale and mental attitudes.

“In this series of 8″ x 8″ drawings in carbon pencil, I have tried to present the subject in a different way. I chose attitudes and/or professions that were not always representative of the sitter. My goal was to populate ‘My Town’ with various characters reflecting psychological expressions of our times.”
